Tony Yu (Rex)

Tony Yu was born in South Korea and immigrated to the Philippines at the age of three. He was enrolled in the International School Manila where he took his first drama class and fell in love instantly. He came to Canada as a student in 2013 and attended the University Of British Columbia, Okanagan, and majors in the Interdisciplinary Performance Arts program. He briefly left Canada for two years to serve in the South Korean military and honorably discharged in 2018. After his return to Canada, he is studying to pursue a career in acting.

Josie Morrow (Becky)

Josie is jumping with excitement to be back on stage sharing this special show with you. You might recognize her from previous new vintage shows like grease, rock of ages and most recently Charlie and the chocolate factory. She is one of our many talented instructors, performers and directors, As well as a local musician and singer. She is so thankful to new vintage theatre for the work it does to provide quality professional theatre in the Okanagan. She would also like to thank all of you for attending and supporting the arts in its time of need.

Corey Hendricks

Corey is a Kelowna born and raised actor who at the age of 11 crashed an audition for his school’s christmas play and since then has been pursuing acting as a career all across BC. After studying acting at Vancouver Acting School, he came back to Kelowna and starred in Little Shop of Horrors along with other involvement with New Vintage Theatre and while he’s not working as a freelance voice actor, he’s all over the BC area working with many other talented groups such as Kelowna Actor’s Studio and Madfox Theatre. Corey has a passion for learning and hopes you enjoy this fun and educational show!

Bonnie Gratz – Director / Producer

Bonnie is an award winning theatre industry veteran with over 100 credits who has worked
throughout Canada. She has loved returning to Leaps and Bounds almost 20 years after she
first directed it in Calgary. Bonnie is also a theatre/film actress, playwright, teacher and is a big
fan of all things green, in particular trees, water and frogs. She thanks everyone for their support
of New Vintage Theatre during this very challenging time for the arts and sends her love to
Derek and to sons Brock and Reid.

Derek Gratz – Set Design / Set Construction

Derek has worked in set design for many shows with New Vintage, and previously with Stage
West and Centre Stage Theatre in Calgary. He has a background in product design and
development, and by day he is at UBC Okanagan working with professors and inventors, and
mentoring tech start-ups. Derek is proud to be Bonnie’s partner in life and in the creative
process, and is excited to be part of this important show.

Reid Gratz – Stage Crew

Reid is a second year UBCO student studying history and political science. He has extensive
experience working as an actor, crew member and in stage construction for New Vintage

Theatre and as an actor on Shaw TV. Reid is also a youth producer for the pop culture festival
KFX. He is very happy to have worked on this project with this incredible team.

Julian Smith – Stage Manager / Set and Light Design

Julian Smith is a 26 year old student at the National Theatre School of Canada in the Production
Design and Technical Arts Program (Year 2). He is very proud to say that he is originally based
out of St. John’s Newfoundland. Julian aspires to someday become a freelance stage manager
and sound designer. This will be his second show with New Vintage Theatre and is super excited
to get to work on his first professional lighting design.
